The ground rules for using USMLE Forum.
Last updated: 26 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses this website. By using the website or creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. The website is operated by USMLE Forum operator (“we”, “us”).
Educational information only
USMLE Forum is an independent educational community. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by USMLE, NBME, FSMB, ECFMG, Intealth, NRMP, AAMC or any residency or fellowship program. Exam, licensing, Match and immigration rules change, so always confirm details with the official source before you act on them. Posts are written by members, not by us, and may be wrong. Nothing on this website is medical, legal or immigration advice, and it must not be used to diagnose or treat anyone.
Your account
You sign in through a social sign-in provider (Google, Facebook or Apple); we never receive your password for those services. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your social-login account secure. Tell us through the contact form if you think someone else is using it. Use one account per person and do not impersonate anyone.
The shared discussion board
The discussion board is shared with usmleweb.com, which is run by the same operator. The two websites use the same accounts and the same topics and replies, so what you publish here is displayed on both websites, an account paused or closed under these terms is paused or closed on both, and the community guidelines and moderation decisions are the same on both. These terms and the matching terms on usmleweb.com apply to your use of each website. The privacy notice explains what is shared.
What you post
You keep ownership of the topics and replies you write. By submitting them you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, moderate and distribute them on this website and on usmleweb.com for as long as they remain published. You confirm that you have the right to share what you post and that it follows the community guidelines. In particular, do not share recalled exam questions, live-exam answers, copyrighted question-bank material or anything that breaks an exam confidentiality agreement, and do not post patient information or another person's personal details.
Every submission is reviewed before it is published. We may decline, edit for formatting, remove, or lock any content, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the community guidelines. If you think a moderation decision is wrong, contact us and a person will review it.
Acceptable use
Do not use the website to break the law, harass people, send spam or promotions, spread malware, or interfere with how the website works. Do not try to get around rate limits, CAPTCHAs or moderation, access accounts or areas you are not authorized to use, or scrape or copy the website in bulk by automated means beyond what search engines ordinarily do.
Our content
The website design, guidelines and other pages are owned by us or our licensors. You may read, print and share them for your own personal, non-commercial use. Do not republish or sell them without permission. Members' posts remain the property of their authors, subject to the licence above.
Sponsored links
Some placements are sponsored and labelled “Sponsored”. Links to other websites, including sponsors, are provided for convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.
Privacy and deleting your account
Our privacy notice explains what information we collect and how we use it. You can download a copy of your information or permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time from the privacy and account page. Because the account is shared, deleting it here also deletes it on usmleweb.com, and removes your topics and replies on both.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the website accurate and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, pause or discontinue any feature at any time, and we do not promise that the website will be error-free, uninterrupted or that any information on it is complete or current.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on information on the website, including exam results, application outcomes or immigration decisions. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be shown on this page with a new update date. If you keep using the website after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply to you.
